Caves
There are two types of underground biomes in the game: Caves and Deep Caves.
The first underground level are Caves and can be reached by placing Ladder Down on terrain tiles in any biome. The player can also access the caves through Villages, as every non-hostile village has a room leading to the caves. Visiting caves is one of the starting methods of progression. Here the player will fight monsters, gather various types of stones, ores and minerals and obtain valuable loot. Bosses can spawn in caves using Boss Items that are dropped from monsters.
All caves can spawn Cavelings; Small monsters that run away from you but drop ores and minerals if you are able to chase them down.
In all caves, if you are in the border tile at the edge of the map, your sprite will act as if it is underwater and Shine Belts won't work.
The second underground level are Deep Caves and can be accessed by placing Deep Ladder Down on terrain. Deep Ladder Down is a drop from the Pirate Captain, and can also be crafted at Advanced Workstation .
