The Cursed Crone is the tenth boss that the Elder wants you to kill. If you are entering a Deep Plains Cave for the first time, you can see her location on the minimap. Otherwise, she can be summoned in Deep Plains Cave using a Spirit Urn in her arena. Like Void Wizard and Runebound Chieftain, her arena cannot be altered.

Fight[edit]

She will start off the fight by attempting to ram you. After this, she will telegraph a long line of spots on the ground, then drops slime from sky. She will then stand in the middle of the board, summoning Spirit Ghouls to attack you. After cycling through those attacks, she will add a new attack, which has her standing in the middle of the board and unleashing whirlwinds around her, which slowly circle outwards. This attack lasts quite a while, which is an opportunity to DPS her, if you can dodge the whirlwinds.

Eventually, she will envelop herself in a shield that blocks all damage, and forces you to play Tic Tac Toe with her. She will begin as red X. You must stand on a square until a blue O fully forms. While you are playing, skull projectiles will spawn in from the sides of the board, attempting to hit you. Note that while you cannot damage the Cursed Crone, you can still gain Resilience when hitting her shield.

There are three outcomes to the game: Connect three blue O's in a row to win, which will cause her shield to come down. She will then stand around doing nothing, which is your window to DPS her down. If she manages to connect three X's in a row, three red projectiles will form and automatically home in on you, dealing massive damage. If it ends a draw, nothing happens, and she will being cycling through her other attacks.

As time goes on, she will force you to play Tic Tac Toe again, fly around much faster, and drop much more slime.

Your reward from the Elder is the Mission Board.

Trivia[edit]

The first appearance of the Crone was in Plains Cave when fighting Runebound Chieftain. She was standing up on the dais watching the fight.
This is the second boss that appears in a boss fight prior to their own. The first is the Ascended Wizard that was previously fought as the Fallen Wizard and the Void Wizard before that.
