Logs are crafting materials harvested from Trees. It is one of the first materials you will encounter when playing.
Logs are abundant in most biomes and a renewable resource if you plant their saplings again after chopping a tree.
Settlements can assign forestry zones for settlers to chop down and plant new trees, giving a way to automate your supply of logs.
