Guide:Getting Started/A Snowy Encounter

ℹ️ Note: The snow caves contain some of the same the mechanics introduced in The Forest Caves. This page focuses only on what is new or different to what you already know.

Snow Cave Resources

New Resources

Snow caves introduce additional resources not found in forest caves. These are:
• Snow Rock – Pale blue-white frozen stone
• Frost Shard Node – Light blue crystalline growth

What You Get

• →  Snow Stone
• →  Frost Shard




💡 Elder's Tip:  Frost Shardare required to craft the highest armour we have access to prior to the first boss so be sure to mine those when you find them. We will need a total of 48 frost shards to make a full armor set and a sword

Snow Stone Caveling

💡 Elder's Tip: Snow caves introduce the  Snow Stone Caveling, which replaces the stone caveling found in forest caves. here in the snow caves the caveling will drop  Frost Shard which we need

Boss Summon Item

💡 Elder's Tip: As with the forest monsters here may drop a boss item. In the snow caves that is the  Royal Egg.you can collect them for later but it would be a bad idea to try using it now

Snow Cave Environmental Differences

Ice Patches

💡 Elder's Tip: Every now and then you will come across patches of ice that you will slip on unless you have a trinket that you will get later to prevent gliding on slippery surfaces. be aware of your surroundings when on these patches of ice.

Frozen Hoard

Every now and then you will come across a bunch of frozen enemies. you can safely walk past them or decided to fight

⚠️ Elder's Warning: If you attack one of the frozen enemies, all of them will break out of the ice and chase you down so be prepared for a fight

Spider Nest (Snow Caves)

⚠️ Elder's Warning: Hitting a  Royal Egg will summon the Queen Spider. you probably want to avoid doing this for now.

Notes

When exploring snow caves for the first time, your priorities should be:

• Collect  Frost Shard
• Collect  Snow Stone
• Observe new enemy behaviors
• Avoid triggering  Royal Egg by hitting the eggs in spider nests

Map Change: Once you think you have enough frost shards you can head back up to the surface to upgrade your gear for Taking On Evils Protector
