Guide:Classes
Necesse does not have classes or specialized skills, but many Equipment and Buff items provide bonuses for certain types of combat styles.

Overview[edit]
- In Necesse, builds are based on Equipment and Buffs since there are no classes or specialized skills. Equipment and buffs to consider include:
- Because builds are based on equipment, it is easy to switch to a completely different build style by switching to a different set of equipment. The player may change or evolve their builds when progressing through the Quests. Because of this, the player may not want to discard equipment simply because it doesn't fit the current build.
- Players can construct a "pure" build or a "hybrid" build that combines elements from multiple build styles. For example, even with no Summoning bonuses, every player has one free summoning slot.
- It can be useful to divide these primary builds into subtypes.
Summoning[edit]
Summoning builds focus on summoning minions to fight for the player. This type of build can also be useful for exploration, mining, and building since the summons can help take care of enemies while the player is doing other activities.
Melee[edit]
Melee builds focus on closer-range combat. Primarily wielding weapons like swords and spears. Melee builds are set-up for high damage and high defense, at the expense of range. Melee is the build that benefits heavily from Resilience on lower difficulties.
Ranged[edit]
Uses Bows and Guns as the main weapon. They don't have much AOE choices until later in the game.
Magic[edit]
Has a variety of weapons including Staves and Magic Books. Their range varies from medium range to long range, and have varying different effects such as shooting projectiles, damage in a line, or summoning an AOE.
