The Homestone is an object used to teleport to Waystones.

A Homestone has a limited number of Waystone slots each unlocked by completing quest tiers.

Using Homestones and Waystones[edit]

  • Each Homestone and Waystone is associated with a particular Settlement. This is determined by the NPC it was received from: either the Elder from the Swamp Guardian settlement quest, or purchased from the Mage.
  • Homestones and Waystones from different settlements do not stack and do not interact with each other.
  • A Homestone must be placed in the settlement it is associated with. It can be mined, picked up, and placed in a different location in the same settlement.
  • A Waystone can be placed anywhere that items can be placed (on any island or cave), but if it is mined, it is destroyed.
  • When a Homestone is activated, the player can choose which Waystone to teleport to. Both must be associated with the same settlement.
    • Each Homestone has a limited number of Waystone slots, unlocked by completing settlement quests.
  • When a Waystone is activated, the player is teleported to the Homestone associated with the same settlement.
  • The number of teleportations is unlimited.

Example of Use[edit]

As an example, the player may place a Homestone in the primary settlement, and place Waystones next to Ladders in each of the other Biomes. Other convenient locations for Waystones are the Dungeon entrance, the Pirate Village, and the entrance to the Fallen Wizard arena. This network can be particularly convenient in farming settlement quests for the Complete Collector Achievement.

If the player has multiple settlements, care must be taken not to mix up Waystones associated with different settlements. It may be simplest to use a Homestone and Waystones from a single settlement, though multiple Homestone/Waystone networks can allow linking extensive networks of areas. In this case, it may be helpful to post Signs to help distinguish between Waystones.
