Roosters are the male counterpart to Chickens. They can be domesticated and raised by players.
A Rooster drops Raw Chicken Legs when killed. It can't lay eggs.
Unlike other animals, Roosters can't be found in the wild, and can only be found and obtained first by buying from villages or when brought by Traveling Merchants visiting a player settlement. By using ropes, they can be led and fenced in to create a pen.
Attacking village Roosters will enrage the settlers, making them hostile against the player.
Tame Roosters will finish fertilizing eggs laid by tame Chickens and placed in an Egg Nest, turning them viable to generate chicks. A single tame Rooster can fertilize many eggs. To tame a Rooster, it needs to be fed Wheat for a prolonged time by hand or using a nearby Feeding Trough.
Roosters bought from Traveling Merchants are already tame on purchase.
