The Trader is an NPC that can be found in any village that can be recruited after you have obtained a Shipping Chest. They can also be recruited as visitors after completing the "Kill Runebound Chieftain" quest.
The Trader can do hauling, crafting, forestry and farming tasks. He can also go on missions to sell items from Shipping Chests.
